This morning, I visited Leimu cafe which has been featured in the local newspaper as a nice cafe in Helsinki. It’s located in Arabia 135 that also includes Iittala & Arabia design center. I sometimes visited this building as a tour guide but hadn’t had an opportunity to have coffee and sweets at this cafe.
今日はイッタラ・アラビアデザインセンターが入っているArabia 135のLeimuカフェに行ってみました。地元新聞にもおいしいカフェとして何度か掲載されたことがあるので気になっていた場所です。ガイドの仕事でこの建物にはときどき行くのですが、仕事中なのでお茶できず。今回初めてここでお茶することにしました。
Looking at the selections, I chose voisilmapulla (butter-eye bun), though I was tempted by the carrot cake.
キャロットケーキも気になりましたが、ヴォイシルマプッラ（バターの目のペストリー）と
I also ordered matcha latte.
抹茶ラテをオーダー。
The voisilmapulla was delicious, and I appreciated that it wasn’t too large. Since I arrived right when the café opened at 10:00, I expected the pastries to be warm, but they weren’t unfortunately.
ヴォイシルマプッラはおいしく大きすぎないのも気に入りました。開店同時にお店に行ったのでまだほんのり温かいことを期待していたのですが、それは叶わず。
Matcha latte was a bit disappointing. It was good that they didn’t use matcha powder mixed with sugar and whisked matcha. However, color of the match wasn’t as green as it was supposed to be. It was a bit brownish, and matcha taste was weak.
抹茶ラテはちょっと残念な感じ。よくあるシュガー入りの抹茶ではなく、ちゃんと茶筅を使って作っていたようですが、ちょっと茶色っぽい緑色の抹茶。あまり抹茶の味のしないラテでした。
I worked on my laptop for a while. The cafe was spacious and atmosphere was airy. It was a nice place to be.
ラップトップを持っていったので、しばらくカフェで仕事をしました。空気感のあるカフェの雰囲気はとてもよかったです。
Next time, I think I will have coffee with pastry or carrot cake!
次回はキャロットケーキと普通のコーヒーにしてみようと思います。
