As I expected, sakura started blooming earlier than usual year. I noticed that the sakura had started blooming at the Old church park already on 19 April.
ヘルシンキの今年の桜の開花は予想通り例年より早く、4月19日にオールドチャーチパークの桜（私の標準木）がすでにこんな感じに。
On 25 April, at the park next to the Temppeliaukio church. I visited there with customers but had a chance to take a quick shot of sakura.
4月25日に仕事で訪れたテンペリアウキオ教会の隣の公園の桜も。
I saw the sakura from the taxi on the same day as above mentioned sakura and went to see them next day. It was at the park next to the Parliamant,

I had an opportunity to visit Roihuvuori with Japanese customers. Most sakuras were not blooming yet but this one in the middle of grass field was blooming nicely!

この日は日本からのお客様と一緒に桜公園を訪れる機会が。ほとんどの桜はまだつぼみ。でも広場の真ん中にあるこの桜だけはお見事。
5 May Hietaniemi cemetary
On the previous day, I saw this sakura tree from the bus. It looked amazing and next day, I walked there. I had not noticed this one before. This is my most favorite sakura I saw this year. It was beautiful with surronding flowers.

見た瞬間に『この木なんの木』のコマーシャルが頭に浮かんだ桜。何の木は知っているけど、見たことない場所の桜。お墓ながら周りの花とのコントラストが素晴らしくて、今年見た桜の中で一番好きだった一本。

The popular sakura festival (hanami festival) was held at Roihuvuori sakura park but a friend and I agreed to go for a walk to see other sakura locations in Helsinki

Next to the winter gardein on the way to Alppipuisto. We didn’t know there was sakura.

Alppipuisto park
I’ve been thinking this park is the most suitable place for hanami like in Japan. There are many cherry trees in this park and you can have picnic under cherry blossoms. And it’s less crowded than Roihuvuori park.
アルッピプイスト公園
私の中ではヘルシンキ一押しの花見スポット。一箇所に桜がたくさんあって、日本風のお花見が楽しめるのはここなのではとずっと思っている。あまり混んでいないのも魅力。
There is one sakura tree in the other area of the park. This sakura is different from the other ones in the park and I think it’s more beautiful than the other ones. There are a couple of groups taking pictures with this sakura tree and we had to wait to take pictures for a while.
同じ公園内の別の場所に一本だけ立っている桜。種類もこれだけ違っていて、さらに美しく。きれいなのでやっぱり人気で、この桜と一緒に桜を撮る人々が立ち去るのを待ってから私たちも撮影。でも本当にきれい。アートな感じに撮れたのも満足。

We found two sakuras on this hill. There weren’t many people and I liked the quiet atmosphere.

This cherry tree, which bloomed early thanks to the good sunlight, has already lost many of its petals, but the fallen petals created a beautiful atmosphere.

日当たりがよく早めに満開を迎えたこの桜はすでにだいぶ散っていて、散った花びらが風情を醸し出していたのが素敵。
Meripuisto park
Two different sakura locations though they look pretty similar. These sakuras are iconic with beautiful buildings of Eira district in the background. I saw several people picnicing around these spots and they looked happy!
メリプイスト公園
公園内2箇所に同じような雰囲気の桜スポットが。エイラ地区の素敵な建物を背景にした桜はヘルシンキの定番。
Now, Helsinki’s sakura season has finished and I am already looking forward to next season!
桜の季節はあっという間に過ぎ去り・・・。でも来年を楽しみに！
