It hadn’t been that hot till yesterday morning. It was nice that I could sleep well without air-conditioner. Even last evening when I was leaving the office, I still felt this summer was not as hot as last two years and pretty comfortable. Last night, however, was quite hot and I woke up to turn on air-conditioner at midnight. Today’s temperature went up to 35 degrees, the second hottest this summer, in Tokyo. I don’t remember the hottest day though.
I went to a friend’s in Yokohama. On the way, I went to Yokohama Sogo to buy puddings. It took some time for me to decided what to buy. As well as all other department stores, Sogo had a lot of "looks-yummy" shops on the basement. But Marlowe’s custard puddings looked the most attractive today. (Custard puddings have been my most favorite since I was a child.) Though I hadn’t known Marlowe, it seemed to be very popular and it is according to a friend. The custard pudding was lovely indeed. And it was very interesting that the glass container of the pudding was a Pyrex cup. If you return the cup to the shop, they give you 200yen back. I did it, of course 😉 The pudding price is a bit expensive if you don’t return the cup. You could use the cup though.

一昨日くらいまでの天気はとても快適。毎日エアコンをつけなくてもよく眠れた。昨日は日中暑くなったけれど会社を出る頃にはまた過ごしやすい夕方って感じだった。でも 夜は蒸し暑くて夜中に目が覚めてエアコンをつけた。今日の最高気温は35度になった。東京では今年2番目の暑さだったらしい。でも 1番暑かったのっていつだっけ？
そんな暑い日だったけど 今日は横浜の友達を訪ねた。お茶請けを買おうと思って横浜そごうのデパ地下に寄った。デパ地下で何かを選ぶのはいつもながら大変。どれもこれもおいしそうなんだから。でも今日一番惹かれたのはマーローのカスタードプリン。（カスタードプリンは子供の頃からの大好物）。マーローを見たのは初めてだったけど人気の店っていう感じだった。後で友達に聞いたところ有名らしい。プリンはとってもおいしかったし おもしろかったのはプリンの容器。なんとあの電子レンジに入れても大丈夫なパイレックスだった。カップをお店に返せば200円返してもらえるっていうシステムも昔懐かしい感じでおもしろかった。でもカップを返却しないとプリントしてはちょっと高い値段になってしまう・・・もちろんカップは使えるけど。
